    WEEKLY NEWS
    Healthy Skin

Everyone likes to look their best, and our skin, hair and nails are often a good external indicator of how healthy we are.  Unfortunately the extensive use of cosmetics today have prevented many people addressing health issues that may be identified through the appearance of natural skin.

Apart from the vital role skin plays in protecting us from physical damage, harmful bacteria, viruses, sunlight and chemicals it can also show us many health states within our bodies.   An example of this is with people who suffer from anaemia often having pale skin, and people who suffer from acne often indicate the presence of toxins which are being stored within their body need removal.

There are many products and substances to help our skin look healthy but one of the best substances to improve the health of our skin is water.  Water helps improve the hydration of our skin as well as removing many toxins in the body.

Another key element in maintaining healthy skin is keeping your skin clean with regular washing as well as reducing the use of products which prevent the skin from breathing causing clogging of the pores which can become a source of infection.

Males also need to pay attention to their skin as so many men work outside or participate in recreational activities outside.  Wind and sunlight can have a devastating effect on the condition of skin by drying it out and increasing the aging process.

Our site has a whole range of products for men and women which include moisturisers, cleansers, toners and vitamins to help from the inside.

    HOT TOPIC
    Vitamin C helps benefit skin

Vitamin C is classed as a water soluble vitamin which can be found in fruits and green vegetables.  Vitamin C has been found beneficial for many uses from acting as an antioxidant to helping synthesis hormones.  The skin is one organ in the body which can benefit from adequate intakes of Vitamin C in the diet.  This vitamin can be very useful is helping wounds to heal faster and assisting the reduction in the amount of scarring.  It can also be very useful in reducing the effects of many skin complaints which include boils, eczema, psoriasis and tinea.  The external application of Vitamin C has also become very popular in recent years with more suggestions that applied externally may help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and stretch marks.  Some indications for deficiency in Vitamin C include bleeding gums and poor wound healing.  If you think you’re not getting enough Vitamin C in your diet jump online and see what product will benefit your needs.

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Is Vitamin C and Ascorbic Acid the same thing?

Ascorbic acid is a common name for Vitamin C. Ascorbic acid needs to be obtained through our diet which includes fruit and vegetables. Humans are one of the few animals that cannot produce this form of ascorbic acid as many animals and plants produce their own stores of ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid is a very fragile vitamin which can be destroyed easily by heat so when trying to use particular vegetables as a source of Vitamin C make sure you limit the amount of heat the vegetables are exposed to, this will allow you to get the most out of your food. Perhaps steaming them could be the solution.
